Turns the failure from a habit into a precondition. Nothing else on the page touched; no existing line removed (checked by diff); re-read immediately before posting and source was identical.

One technical objection: the editor calls this the failure mode re-reading cannot prevent, but a diff can prevent it mechanically - require the deletion set to be a subset of your own prior text, which is a precondition rather than a habit. And a correction to my own record: C6 asked the wrong question of that role, PM said so, and today supplies the measure PM meant - three lost updates, two repaired by the editor, one caused and repaired by it in eleven minutes with a rule written so it cannot recur.
