1 | # Hold The Horde — Mechanical Interfaces And Opening Quantities |
| 2 | ||||||||
3 | **Status.** Conditional first-pass operating candidate. It makes the advertised opening, local interface cases and three later horde-scale build climaxes determinate enough for written accounting. The owner-selected directions are connected reusable parts, mostly automatic ordinary fire, manual specials, limited carried oxygen, unlimited ship oxygen, one shared carrying capacity, carried-property return and reset of temporary combat upgrades on every return home. The **10 C / 4 A comparison baseline, four-part starting inventory, every amount and threshold, power/heat limit and fixture detail introduced here are proposed**, replaceable and unvalidated. This article adds no implementation, asset, balance result, campaign claim or answer to any pending owner question. |

| 13 | ## Candidate in one paragraph |
| 14 | ||||||||
15 | Support several **independent ordinary launch paths** when the mounted rig, carrying manifest and visible power budget allow them. Every automatic actuator owns its shown reach, target rule and readiness; each commits its own launch when its connected event source offers a valid target and it is ready. Fork may also carry one committed event to compatible descendants. Repeated arcs, rebounds, penetration and blooms use a visible finite route/body budget; a descendant cannot refill the budget, readiness or power that created it. Manual Trigger and chosen Capacitor release remain distinct manual sources. In normalized packet examples a committed Dynamo or either stated Cycler response carries **2 usable units (U)**, Fork divides usable payload in a fixed output order without amplification, Capacitor holds **4 U**, and its default chosen manual release spends **2 U** only after its first receiver accepts. U determines receiver acceptance and authored effect tier, not damage per victim. Failed later receivers never rewind an upstream commit. A proposed later backplane supplies **10 operating points (P)** and each component has **16 heat (H)** capacity under the horde-scale comparison below; accepted actions reserve their full stated heat and power before they advertise full coverage. The opening remains a separate **10 C / 4 A / 6 P** comparison with the existing oxygen sheet. These numbers determine written cases only; they prove no route safe, build balanced or effect readable. |
16 | |||||||
| 17 | ## 1. Supported controller and receiver envelope |
| 18 | ||||||||
| 19 | ### The proposed supported envelope |
| 20 | ||||||||
21 | An ordinary launch path consists of one event source, one named automatic actuator and any compatible changing or delivery parts between or after them. Threat Sensor observes its shown arc; each connected Pulse Projector or other automatic actuator owns its own reach, readiness and target validity. While an actuator is ready, the nearest visible valid hostile inside the intersection of source arc and actuator reach is selected. Positioning may change that candidate until this actuator commits. No candidate holds another path ready, spends its readiness or creates a shared reservation. At commitment, that actuator seals one target and spends its own readiness; its projectile never retargets. |
22 | |||||||
23 | Several such paths may coexist. Sensor→Projector and Stride→a second Projector are legal if both mounted chains fit and the previewed concurrent demand does not exceed the rig's visible power supply. Each checks and fires independently. The same is true of two automatic actuators behind a compatible Fork: the event is shared, but each receiver keeps its own readiness and target. One refusing branch never suppresses a ready sibling. Manual Trigger, chosen manual Capacitor release and a temporary effect's labelled full-store command remain independent manual sources under their own rules. |
24 | |||||||
25 | Stride Switch emits only for its accepted deliberate grounded-movement gate. Conveyor motion, shove and recoil remain invalid. A qualifying traversal may therefore launch its connected ready actuator while a Sensor path independently watches another arc, or may end in a non-launch response such as a configured Capacitor→Barrier release. Shared physical inputs, port compatibility and target rules still apply locally; legal possession never guarantees that two plugs fit the same socket. |
26 | |||||||
27 | The rig preview checks compatible links and visible operating demand before a link edit commits. It sums components that can operate in the same causal interval. Mutually exclusive link layouts, gated modes and buffered charge-versus-discharge states show separate peak demands rather than one impossible all-maxima total; every state that can actually overlap must fit supply. Thunderhead's journal preview includes both of its visible modes and demand that can overlap from already launched effects: gating new launches does not erase projectiles or their remaining effects. A proposal with an unsafe state refuses without changing current links. A legal multi-output rig pays for its coverage in active space, carrying space, power and heat. This article now gives explicit replaceable supply, draw, heat, readiness and cooling quantities for the bounded comparison; they are proposed rather than owner-selected and do not disguise a single-launch cap. |
28 | |||||||
| 29 | ### Boundary order |
| 30 | ||||||||
31 | 1. **Edit preview:** in the fully paused journal, accessible port direction/type and each possible concurrent demand state are checked. Invalid or over-supply proposals refuse without changing the current links. Physical pickup, mounting and removal remain live-world actions. |
32 | 2. **Ordinary hold:** each automatic actuator checks its own readiness and source/actuator shared valid-target condition. Failure holds that actuator ready; it creates no launch or downstream delivery and does not block another path. |
| 33 | 3. **Launch commit:** that actuator seals one selected target and spends one readiness as its external event starts. The physical launch executes once and cannot retarget. |
| 34 | 4. **Descendant delivery:** every receiving branch checks its own link, type, readiness/storage, target, heat state and allocated threshold when the packet arrives. Refusal affects only that branch and refunds no already committed upstream state. |
35 | 5. **Finite route:** after complete-action heat has been reserved at commit, an Arc route, projectile bank, penetration segment, fragment fan or bloom spends only its named geometry/body allowance. Missing line, obstruction or exhaustion ends it visibly; heat is never charged again per hop, contact or descendant and cannot secretly shorten an accepted effect. A descendant cannot refill the allowance, readiness or power that created it. |
36 | 6. **Recovery:** each ordinary actuator becomes ready only through its stated world time. Readiness completion creates no target, trigger or wave. |
37 | |||||||
38 | The credible smaller tuning variant is a low-supply opening backplane that powers one ordinary path until the player installs a discovered supply assembly. It uses the same rules and makes the restriction a visible build cost rather than a universal topology ban. Whether the opening should begin that constrained remains an owner-facing quantity choice. |
39 | |||||||
40 | ### Visible operating supply and heat reservation |
| 41 | ||||||||
42 | **P** is simultaneous operating demand, not stored energy. The proposed ship backplane supplies **6 P** in its opening 4 A state, **8 P** with the navigation coupler's 6 A state and **10 P** with both area assemblies installed for 8 A. These additions are one visible ship configuration, not new portable parts. A state that can overlap must fit; mutually gated states are checked separately. A named transformed projectile with duration after dispatch reserves 1 P from launch through its terminal descendants, even after Projector itself becomes ready again. The current disc family uses that reservation; the Arc routes and straight Thunderhead/Furnace lances resolve inside their accepted action rather than leaving an unstated flight. |
43 | |||||||
| 44 | | Component activity | Concurrent demand | |
| 45 | |---|---:| |
| 46 | | Threat Sensor tracking/launch check | **1 P** | |
| 47 | | Stride Switch qualifying and dispatching | **1 P** | |
| 48 | | Pulse Projector dispatch | **2 P**, then **1 P** for each transformed projectile still in flight | |
| 49 | | Impact Dynamo contribution | **1 P** | |
| 50 | | Fork Relay allocation | **1 P** | |
| 51 | | Capacitor receive / chosen discharge | **1 P / 2 P** | |
| 52 | | Arc Emitter action | **2 P** until all its finite routes finish | |
| 53 | | Barrier Plate action | **2 P** | |
| 54 | | Vector Nozzle pulse | **2 P** | |
| 55 | | Thermal Lens conversion | **1 P** | |
56 | | Salvage Cycler accepted conversion | **2 P** until its one response is delivered or dissipates
57 | | Manual Trigger | **0 P**; it supplies intent, not power
| 58 | ||||||||
59 | Every heat-bearing component has a proposed **16 H** capacity and cools **4 H per second** after **0.75 seconds** without that component committing another action. Heat cost is reserved for the whole named action at commit; it is not accumulated victim by victim until an advertised effect secretly stops. If the complete power/heat reservation is unavailable, an automatic actuator holds ready and names the limit, while a manual command refuses before charge or heat is spent. Once accepted, charge and heat remain committed. Moving bodies, lost targets or new cover may physically shorten a route, but that is a visible miss or obstruction rather than a hidden resource cancellation. |
60 | |||||||
61 | | Accepted action or component | Heat and natural recovery comparison
62 | |---|---| |
63 | | Threat Sensor / Manual Trigger / Fork Relay | **0 H**; no independent timed recovery. Their receiver/wave gates still apply.
| 64 | | Stride Switch | **0 H**; ready **1.25 s** after an accepted traversal. Distance and grounded gates still apply. | |
| 65 | | Projector ordinary pulse | Projector **+1 H**; ready after **1.0 s**. Rebound/Foundry replace this row with their own total. | |
| 66 | | Barrier Plate action | Barrier **+3 H**; ready after **1.5 s** | |
| 67 | | Impact Dynamo contribution | Dynamo **+1 H**; ready after **0.75 s**. Same-wave batched impacts still make only one contribution. | |
| 68 | | Capacitor receive / ordinary chosen release | Capacitor **+1 H / +2 H**; availability follows storage, headroom and first-receiver acceptance rather than a separate timer. | |
| 69 | | Thermal Lens conversion | Lens **+2 H**; ready after **1.0 s** | |
70 | | Arc base action | Arc **+2 H**; ready after **1.0 s**
| 71 | | Echoing Arc action | Arc **+6 H total**; ready after **1.5 s** | |
72 | | Salvage Cycler accepted conversion | Cycler **+4 H**; ready after **2.0 s**. The selected eligible material commits before its one response.
| 73 | | Thunderhead full-store action | Capacitor **+4 H**, plus Arc **+8 H** and/or Projector **+4 H** for the branch or branches that accept; accepted Arc/Projector branches become ready again after **1.0 s** | |
74 | | Rebound Disc + Fragment Wake | Projector **+5 H total**; ready after **1.25 s**; each disc ends by **3.75 s**
75 | | Foundry Drop master disc | Projector **+8 H**, Capacitor **+4 H**; Projector must already be naturally ready and becomes ready again after **1.25 s**
76 | | Nozzle / Inward Draft pulse | Nozzle **+2 H / +3 H**; ready after **1.0 s / 1.25 s**
77 | | Furnace Burst | Projector **+8 H**, Lens **+6 H**, Capacitor **+4 H**; Projector/Lens must already be naturally ready and become ready again after **1.0 s**
78 | |||||||
79 | These values intentionally support a few overlapping transformed shots and one prepared climax, then force cooling. They are not damage numbers. For this candidate, a developed manual climax defeats an ordinary Presser it validly reaches. A special body still consumes one body slot and receives the effect, but whether it survives follows its own existing response and unresolved combat-strength tuning. No current roster role is silently granted insulation, heat resistance or projectile absorption. That qualitative rule makes “break the horde” mechanically meaningful without inventing a complete health table or a universal counter. |
| 80 | ||||||||
| 81 | When a full store makes Thunderhead, Foundry Drop or Furnace Burst available, the next instant when every required actuator is naturally ready belongs to a visible **manual-ready hold** before an automatic source can consume one. If the player presses while any required actuator is busy, that press visibly arms only this next opportunity and can be cancelled; it spends no charge or heat. At readiness the complete target, route, power and heat preflight runs. Acceptance commits immediately. Cancellation, refusal or letting the shown **0.75-second** opportunity lapse releases the hold and ordinary automatic fire may re-evaluate; after a lapse the special stays available but another hold occurs only if the player presses again. This gives one usable command opportunity without granting readiness, queuing an accepted attack or repeatedly stalling ordinary fire. |
82 | |||||||
83 | ## 2. Fork allocation, storage and committed loss |
| 84 | ||||||||
| 85 | ### Normalized quantities and receiver thresholds |
| 86 | ||||||||
| 87 | **U** is a paper-accounting unit of usable packet payload, not a damage stat, battery currency or inventory item. A bare trigger has no U and is copied intact to every branch that accepts its trigger type. For the bounded examples: |
| 88 | ||||||||
| 89 | | Source or receiver | Proposed operating amount | |
| 90 | |---|---| |
91 | | Impact Dynamo charged output | **2 U** after one eligible carrier contribution in one external wave; multiple qualifying impacts batched in that wave still produce exactly 2 U
| 92 | | Conductive Cycler sample response | **2 U of charge** after one eligible normalized conductive sample commits and is consumed | |
| 93 | | Pressure Cycler sample response | **2 U of force** after one eligible normalized pressure sample commits and is consumed | |
94 | | Arc Emitter | Minimum **1 U** charged trigger; it spends its delivered packet on that one action
| 95 | | Capacitor input | Minimum **1 U**; accepts up to free space in its **4 U** store | |
| 96 | | Thermal Lens | Minimum **2 U** charge; accepts and converts the delivered charge to one heat packet in the same wave | |
| 97 | | Barrier charged refresh | Minimum **1 U** if using a charged rather than bare trigger | |
98 | | Capacitor chosen manual release | Default requires and emits exactly **2 U**; it cannot release at 0–1 U. Temporary Thunderhead, Foundry Drop and Furnace Burst full-store exceptions are defined below.
99 | |||||||
| 100 | These amounts say only whether an action accepts; they assign no damage, duration, barrier strength or enemy statistic. |
| 101 | ||||||||
| 102 | ### Fork's fixed order |
| 103 | ||||||||
| 104 | Fork's two outputs are visibly labelled **1** and **2**. Resolution is once per incoming wave: |
| 105 | ||||||||
| 106 | 1. Each output first checks direct-link compatibility, payload type, present receiver readiness/storage and any required valid target. A branch failing one of those checks is **blocked before allocation**. |
| 107 | 2. If neither branch passes, Fork emits nothing; the incoming payload is already committed and dissipates visibly at Fork. |
108 | 3. If exactly one branch passes, that sole **pre-allocation candidate** receives the full incoming usable payload. It then applies its own minimum and maximum. |
109 | 4. If both pass, Fork divides the amount as evenly as whole U allow: output 1 receives the larger share when odd, output 2 the smaller. Thus 1 U divides 1/0, 2 U divides 1/1 and 3 U divides 2/1. Total assigned never exceeds input. |
| 110 | 5. Each candidate then checks whether its allocated share meets its minimum. A zero or sub-threshold share refuses. That share is not reallocated after the fact, buffered or copied; it dissipates visibly at Fork. An accepting receiver owns its share from that point. |
| 111 | ||||||||
112 | This ordering distinguishes a branch known blocked before division from a branch that was otherwise ready but received too small a share. It preserves the existing rule that one sole pre-allocation candidate gets the full payload while making post-allocation threshold refusal determinate. A branch is not called accepting until its allocated share meets that receiver's minimum. Output priority on odd amounts is a legibility convention and an expressive cost: swapping the two links can matter. Full-copy Fork remains the stronger spectacle alternative, but would be amplification and would need a named source/cost rather than conservation language. |
113 | |||||||
| 114 | ### Capacitor receive, overflow and release |
| 115 | ||||||||
| 116 | Capacitor stores exact accepted U from 0 through 4. At 0 it is empty; 1–3 is partial; 4 is full/saturated. If it has free space, it accepts at least 1 U. It stores up to that free space and **vents any delivered overflow at its own inlet** with a local saturation response. It never passes overflow onward in this candidate. At 4 it is blocked before Fork allocation. Becoming partial, release-ready at 2 U, full or no longer full is a state change, never a source event. |
| 117 | ||||||||
| 118 | A chosen manual release first checks the directly connected first receiver's link/type, readiness and any target. At less than 2 U, or when that first receiver refuses, release refuses before commitment: no wave starts and all stored charge remains. If the first receiver accepts, the release commits, **2 U leaves storage immediately**, and one new manual wave begins. The first receiver may convert or act. Any later downstream refusal dissipates the packet there; it never restores the 2 U. A rig-triggered release, if a later authored configuration uses one, retains the incoming wave and follows the same first-receiver gate. |
| 119 | ||||||||
| 120 | An emitted Dynamo contribution is no longer held by Dynamo. A valid Cycler activation consumes its selected material before emitting its response. Fork refusal, Capacitor overflow, Lens conversion or a later actuator refusal can therefore lose payload without refunding the carrier impact, stored release or material. Conversely, the existing **pre-release** refusal is not a loss and never needs a refund because the charge never left storage. |
| 121 | ||||||||
| 122 | This article deliberately does not decide whether stored Capacitor charge survives death, living return, storage removal or another expedition boundary. Save/global04 must represent the actual amount and apply their accepted owning policy once that policy exists. No case below uses death to settle retained charge. |
| 123 | ||||||||
124 | ### Finite route and return conservation |
125 | |||||||
126 | An external launch, manual activation, enemy strike or environmental event starts one causal sequence. A permanent part or temporary expedition upgrade may attach a visible finite budget measured in routes, rebounds, bodies, penetration or fragments. A physical effect cannot revisit signal receivers unless its effect actually supplies a signal output; ordinary Arc Emitter arcs do not. A descendant cannot refill the same sequence's budget, refresh the readiness already spent to create it or mint usable U from its own output. A later automatic firing cycle, new manual activation or separate enemy strike starts a new sequence with its own budget. |
127 | |||||||
128 | Arc Emitter's proposed base action uses one chain route: the selected initial target plus at most **five** new bodies, each reached by a line-of-effect hop of at most **2.5 metres**, all within **10 metres** of the initial target. It never visits one body twice. Hard cover, a missing hop/line or exhaustion of six bodies ends that route. The temporary **Echoing Arc** reserves its full 6 H at commitment and adds **two** further chain routes branching from already struck bodies into different available directions. Each added route may reach at most **six new bodies** under the same hop/radius/cover rules, for at most **18 unique bodies** in the complete accepted action. It creates no packet, signal output or U, and the body count does not charge Dynamo. Once accepted, no later hop performs another heat check. |
129 | |||||||
| 130 | ### Thunderhead: one manual command, two visible modes |
| 131 | ||||||||
| 132 | Thunderhead is a proposed temporary modifier of the same six-part **7 C / 7 A Storm Choir**: Threat Sensor (1), Pulse Projector (1), Impact Dynamo (1), Fork Relay (1), Arc Emitter (2) and Capacitor (1), with each amount applying to both carrying and active space. The Capacitor's built-in chosen-release control supplies the manual command; no separate Manual Trigger, Barrier or permanent switching part is granted. Thunderhead provides two visible, mutually gated connection modes, previewed in the journal. Once the compatible mounted arrangement is configured, a burst and the return to charging require no journal link edit. |
| 133 | ||||||||
| 134 | | Mode | Actual connections and compact amount trace | Boundary | |
| 135 | |---|---|---| |
| 136 | | **Charging** | Sensor→Projector supplies ordinary fire. Dynamo remains locally clamped to Projector's physical-output feed; its output reaches Fork, whose output 1 feeds Arc and output 2 feeds Capacitor. One eligible external Projector wave produces one 2 U Dynamo contribution. When both branches accept, Fork divides 1/1: Arc spends 1 U on its action and Capacitor stores 1 U. Four separate such contributions fill an initially empty store to 4 U. | Each ordinary launch still needs its actual source, target, readiness and allowed power/heat. If a branch is blocked, Fork's existing allocation rule applies instead of assuming a 1/1 split. Fullness creates no event. | |
137 | | **Discharge** | One accepted manual command routes Capacitor→Fork, with output 1→Arc and output 2→Projector. A full-store release spends 4 U; with both branches eligible, Fork divides 2/2. Arc uses that 2 U to open three simultaneous base chain heads; Projector uses 2 U for one penetrating pressure lance. | New ordinary launches and charging connections are gated during dispatch, so neither Fork nor Projector receives two simultaneous plugs at its one input. Existing committed projectiles/effects are not erased or restarted. A sole eligible branch receives 4 U under Fork's rule but accepts at most the named 2 U effect tier and visibly vents the excess; no missing branch doubles coverage.
138 | |||||||
| 139 | **Before commitment.** The command requires a full 4 U store, a compatible and accepting directly connected Fork, at least one branch that passes its existing link/type/readiness/target and allocation checks, and permitted power/heat for the actual possible overlap. The preview and command check include remaining demand from already in-flight effects, not only the selected mode's new work. If the command refuses, it starts no release wave, spends no charge or burst heat and leaves charging mode connected; a full store remains 4 U. The normal per-receiver checks still apply at delivery if conditions change after this preflight. |
| 140 | ||||||||
141 | **Coverage.** The 2 U Arc branch selects the ordinary initial target plus at most two additional eligible seed bodies within **4 metres** of it. Each seed starts one six-body base route under the normal hop, radius and cover rules, without duplicate bodies, for at most **18**. If Echoing Arc is also present, its two additional six-body routes apply once to the whole action, not once per seed, raising the Arc branch to at most **30 unique bodies**. The Projector branch commits one **14-metre by 1.5-metre** lance through its shown initial target and at most **12 unique bodies** before hard cover or range ends it. Together the two branches can visibly affect at most **42 unique bodies** when their paths do not overlap. The journal shows the three seed heads, currently connected hop regions, lance corridor and cover breaks before acceptance; moving bodies can still change the result after commit. This is achievable ideal-path coverage, not 42 copied U, a universal damage value or a guarantee that a special body is defeated. |
142 | |||||||
143 | **Commit, dispatch and automatic restoration.** Acceptance commits one new manual wave, removes all 4 U immediately and reserves the complete 7 P base dispatch plus the stated heat. Thunderhead's straight lance resolves inside this dispatch; its Arc routes may continue briefly at their included 2 P until their finite hops finish. Thunderhead selects the discharge connections, hands the allocated payload to the branches and automatically restores charging after dispatch. A later receiver refusal or physical obstruction neither refunds the release nor prevents restoration. Already launched effects keep their wave, target and finite allowance; restoration does not replay a packet, erase an effect or reset readiness, heat or route budgets. While that same Arc is still finishing and unready, a new Sensor wave may use only the eligible non-Arc charging branches: their 6 P plus the finishing Arc's 2 P totals 8 P. Once the Arc action ends and becomes naturally ready, the full 8 P charging path is available again. |
144 | |||||||
145 | **No self-recharge.** Every descendant of the burst wave is ineligible to produce a Dynamo contribution, including any physical impact made by the pressure lance during dispatch. Arc still has no signal output or usable U. Restored links supply neither energy nor a new event: only later independent eligible external impacts can refill the store. Thunderhead adds finite seeded coverage but no permanent part, free U or readiness. Another burst needs a later source-backed recharge and chosen command. |
146 | |||||||
| 147 | ### Rebound Disc and Fragment Wake |
148 | |||||||
149 | The temporary **Rebound Disc** turns each accepted ordinary Projector shot into one physical disc. It keeps the committed initial direction and never homes. Before commitment, a stationary hard face is a **bank face** only when the shown incoming path also has a clear shown outgoing reflection and a rebound remains; the journal/world preview draws both segments. The same structure still blocks travel through itself. A soft/irregular face, a hard face with no clear outgoing segment, or the next hard face after the rebound allowance is spent shows a terminal fan marker instead. Bodies are contacts, never bank faces, and the current roster supplies no universal projectile absorber. |
| 150 | ||||||||
| 151 | One ordinary disc may travel at most **24 metres**, exist for at most **3.75 seconds**, rebound from at most **six** bank faces and contact at most **18 unique bodies**. On one straight segment it may pass through at most three bodies; after the third it may still reach a bank face, but meeting a fourth body terminates that segment and disc. One body can be contacted only once by that disc. The disc reaches a **normal terminal** when it exhausts total body contacts, meets a fourth body on one segment, reaches travel or time, meets a non-bank face, or reaches the next face after its sixth rebound. |
| 152 | ||||||||
| 153 | **Fragment Wake** adds 2 H to the same accepted ordinary action. Every normal terminal above emits at most **12 fragments** through a **160-degree forward fan** from that visible terminal point. Each fragment travels at most **8 metres**, contacts one body that was struck by neither the parent disc nor an earlier sibling fragment, and stops at solid cover. A fragment cannot rebound, penetrate, create another fragment or fan, or cause another Dynamo contribution. The parent's single 1 P flight reservation remains until every emitted fragment terminates; fragments add no separate P. Thus a route that contacts 18 unique bodies and then terminates can still reach 12 different visible bodies with its fan, for an achievable ideal-path ceiling of **30 unique bodies**. Cover, missing bodies, shared frontage and geometry commonly reduce it. |
154 | |||||||
155 | A later temporary **Foundry Drop** gives the same six-part 7 C / 7 A Ricochet rig an automatic-fire mode and one gated manual master-disc mode. With Capacitor full, its built-in manual command uses the shared manual-ready hold and requires natural Projector readiness, a valid shown bank/terminal path, complete 4 P dispatch plus all current reservations/Nozzle demand, and 8 H Projector/4 H Capacitor headroom. Before Projector accepts, cancellation, lapse or refusal retains 4 U and releases ordinary Sensor fire. Acceptance gates new Sensor launches for dispatch, spends all 4 U and launches one master disc with at most **40 metres**, **5 seconds**, **ten bank-face rebounds** and **32 unique body contacts**. It uses the same per-segment rule and normal-terminal classification, then emits at most **16** one-body fragments subject to the same no-repeat, cover and no-descendant rules. A route that reaches 32 bodies can therefore end in a fan reaching 16 different bodies, for an achievable ideal-path ceiling of **48 unique bodies**. |
156 | |||||||
157 | Charging links restore automatically after master dispatch; readiness is not granted. The still-flying master keeps one P through its terminal fragments, so restored automatic fire includes that reservation and any ordinary-disc reservations in every new overlap check. The master disc and every descendant are ineligible for Dynamo recharge. A later automatic disc uses its own ordinary readiness, heat and reservation rather than inheriting the manual action's. |
158 | |||||||
159 | Manual Trigger→Vector Nozzle remains a separate faced positioning special. It can overlap the automatic or manual disc only when the visible supply and local heat accept the actual combination. Foundry Drop invents no steering: the player earns the line by moving and by shoving eligible bodies or loose cover before the disc commits. Static bank and terminal lines are previewable; moving bodies and loose cover can still make a committed route shorter without refund. |
160 | |||||||
| 161 | ### Inward Draft and Furnace Burst |
| 162 | ||||||||
| 163 | The 8 C / 8 A **Gravity Furnace** uses Stride Switch (1), Vector Nozzle (2), Threat Sensor (1), Pulse Projector (1), Impact Dynamo (1), Capacitor (1) and Thermal Lens (1). Before temporary growth, deliberate grounded movement triggers the ordinary outward Nozzle pulse while Sensor→Projector fires separately and eligible impacts fill Capacitor. The exact same physical parts remain throughout the ladder. |
| 164 | ||||||||
165 | Temporary **Inward Draft** reverses only a Stride-sourced Nozzle action. Every accepted **3-metre** deliberate grounded traversal emits one rear-facing **120-degree**, **8-metre** pull, affecting at most **12 eligible bodies** with unobstructed line of effect. Each can move at most **2 metres** toward the wake centreline and only once in that pulse. Fixed/sealed objects do not move; hard cover blocks; the opposite reaction tugs the astronaut **0.5 metre** back toward the wake. Forced motion, Nozzle recoil and conveyor travel cannot trigger Stride. Bellback's current Roster response says a successful Nozzle displacement during its brace interrupts it. This proposal treats an accepted Inward Draft that has clear line to Bellback as that same Nozzle displacement: Bellback consumes one body slot, moves at most 2 metres and loses the brace; the Roster needs that finite clarification if accepted. If the rib blocks the pull or Bellback releases first, its existing pressure wave can scatter the gathered line. With 1.25-second readiness, three differently positioned pulses can gather at most 36 body responses before the earliest spacing falls apart; they are three real actions, not one multiplied packet. |
166 | |||||||
167 | Temporary **Furnace Burst** supplies two visible gated modes on that same rig. Charging keeps Sensor→Projector, Projector-impact→Dynamo→Capacitor and Stride→Nozzle. A full-store manual command uses the shared manual-ready hold and preflights natural Projector readiness, a valid shown target/line/bloom origin, complete possible overlap and 8 H Projector/6 H Lens/4 H Capacitor headroom. It then gates new Sensor and Stride launches, spends 4 U through Capacitor→Lens→Projector, and dispatches one **16-metre by 2-metre** heat lance through at most **16 unique bodies**. At the first hard surface or its range end, the lance produces one **6-metre-radius** thermal bloom reaching at most **32 additional bodies** with unobstructed lines from the impact. No body is counted twice; total ideal-path coverage is at most **48**. Hard cover ends the lance and breaks bloom sight; every current body consumes a slot, ordinary Pressers reached by the accepted climax are defeated, and special survival remains unresolved combat-strength tuning rather than a new resistance class. |
168 | |||||||
169 | Refusal, lapse or cancellation before first-receiver acceptance spends no charge/heat and leaves charging mode. After acceptance, loss of the later target or blocked bloom refunds nothing. The lance and bloom resolve within dispatch; charging connections restore automatically without a journal edit and grant no readiness. Pulls create no charge; the burst and all its descendants cannot feed Dynamo after restoration. |
170 | |||||||
| 171 | ### Later-rig comparison |
| 172 | ||||||||
173 | | Build | Existing physical manifest; with one 2 C canister | Named coexistence checks against 10 P | Finite developed outcome
174 | |---|---|---|---| |
175 | | **Storm Choir** | Sensor, Projector, Dynamo, Fork, Arc, Capacitor: **7 C / 7 A; 9/10 C** | Full charging action **8 P**; Thunderhead dispatch **7 P**. After restoration, its still-finishing Arc uses **2 P**. Until that same Arc is naturally ready, a Sensor wave can only use the other eligible charging branches (at most **6 P**, for **8 P** total); once the Arc action ends, the full 8 P path is available again. | Echoing ordinary Arc up to **18** bodies. Thunderhead up to **30 Arc + 12 lance = 42 unique**.
| 176 | | **Ricochet Foundry** | Sensor, Projector, Dynamo, Capacitor, Manual, Nozzle: **7 C / 7 A; 9/10 C** | Ordinary launch chain **5 P** + two prior disc reservations + Nozzle **2 P = 9 P**. Foundry dispatch **4 P** + two ordinary reservations + Nozzle = **8 P**. After restoration, master reservation **1 P** + up to two other disc reservations + a new 5 P launch + Nozzle = **10 P**; heat/readiness may permit fewer. Each parent's terminal fragments remain inside its one reservation. | Each ordinary disc+wake up to **30**; at most three ordinary discs overlap after dispatch. Master disc+wake up to **48 unique**. | |
177 | | **Gravity Furnace** | Stride, Nozzle, Sensor, Projector, Dynamo, Capacitor, Lens: **8 C / 8 A; 10/10 C** | Ordinary charge plus Inward Draft **8 P**. Furnace dispatch **5 P**; an already accepted pull may overlap for **8 P**, while new Sensor and Stride launches remain gated during dispatch. | Each pull affects up to **12**; three positioned pulses up to **36 responses**. Furnace lance+bloom up to **48 unique**.
| 178 | ||||||||
179 | The middle column gives named power-only coexistence checks, not exhaustive global maxima or sustained-fire rates. Every new action also needs its own target, natural readiness, heat headroom and physically possible timing; a path may therefore accept fewer overlaps than P alone permits. The outcome column gives achievable ideal-path ceilings, not guaranteed victims. Static bank/terminal lines, Arc hop regions, lance/bloom cover and the presently eligible body count are visible before a manual commit; moving bodies and loose cover can reduce the result after acceptance without refund. No build has a hidden screen-wide count that silently ignores its actual route. |
180 | |||||||
181 | ### Provisional temporary stage reward state |
| 182 | ||||||||
| 183 | Pending the owner's growth-rhythm choice, this reference models stage-only upgrades. Regular defeated-enemy growth plus larger milestone transformations is the alternative; its meter, thresholds, pickup behaviour and interruption cost are not defined here. |
184 | |||||||
185 | An eligible stage is one finite, announced pressure release from an identified physical source. It moves from **uncommitted** to **unresolved** when that release's attackers/arrivals commit. A physical closure completed before commitment prevents the release and gives no combat-upgrade offer; safety, access and mechanism-owned completed work remain its benefits. After commitment, it moves to **spent** and offers one temporary choice when the player clears all attackers committed to that release or completes a physical seal that ends their access. The seal stops further access but leaves already-arrived bodies active; quiet requires clearing or separating those bodies. Clearing the current lane while further committed attackers still feed is suppression, not resolution. If the committed finite release is cleared or its access is sealed before the announced peak, it pays immediately; no struggle threshold is required. Preventing commitment accepts less temporary growth in exchange for safety and access. Break and seal present the same choice even though their combat, oxygen and access costs may differ. |
186 | |||||||
| 187 | Escape leaves the stage unresolved and re-entry resumes it. A spent stage stays spent for the current station arrangement across a living return; reopening the same seal cannot pay again, and physical seal persistence follows its mechanism. A later release is a new eligible stage only when separately authored, announced and sourced. Death itself pays nothing. Every chosen temporary upgrade and any earned-but-unchosen offer expires on return aboard. Carried property, recorded knowledge and the unresolved stored-Capacitor persistence question remain separate. |
| 188 | ||||||||
| 189 | Three to five meaningful choices are an illustrative sustained-outing cadence, not a quota or current-route claim: foundation, branch, then refinements or changes, with an optional larger authored stage able to offer a transformation. A short trip can earn one and cleared travel earns none. The state rule does not guarantee that the next eligible frontier is near after reset. |

191 | ## 3. Opening quantity sheet |
| 192 | ||||||||
| 193 | ### Proposed comparison quantities |
| 194 | ||||||||
| 195 | | Quantity | Proposed opening value | Boundary | |
| 196 | |---|---:|---| |
| 197 | | Shared carrying capacity | **10 C** | Current comparison baseline, not selected balance | |
198 | | Opening active rig area / operating supply | **4 A / 6 P** | Current comparison baseline; enough for Sensor→Fork→Projector + Barrier at its actual simultaneous peak
199 | | Opening starter parts | Threat Sensor, Projector, Manual Trigger, Barrier: **1 C / 1 A each** | Active total **4 C / 4 A**
| 200 | | Fork Relay | **1 C / 1 A** active; **1 C / 0 A** inactive | Existing comparison | |
| 201 | | Isolation bridge | **2 C / 0 A** | Existing objective assembly value retained | |
| 202 | | Pressure regulator core | **2 C / 0 A** | Existing later example retained | |
203 | | Navigation coupler | **2 C / 0 A** carried | Provisional value; installation grants the proposed 4→6 A and 6→8 P ship state
| 204 | | Thermal exchanger core | **2 C / 0 A** carried | Provisional value; installation with coupler grants the proposed 6→8 A and 8→10 P ship state | |
205 | | Integral suit tank | **12 O**, outside C/A | Refillable aboard; active breathing source
| 206 | | Ordinary-full canister | **8 O** in a **2 C** vessel | Reserve gas; not automatic breathing | |
| 207 | | Prepared-full canister | **12 O** in the same **2 C** vessel | Four-unit prepared surplus; no size change | |
| 208 | | Base suit drain | **1 O per 30 seconds** | Illustrative opening arithmetic only; other drains excluded | |
209 | | Coupled transfer | Up to **3 O per 30 seconds** from vessel while base breathing continues | Stops at suit **12 O** or vessel empty; all untransferred gas remains in the vessel
| 210 | | Suit reserve indication | Player-set level, proposed default **4 O** | A level only; it may not be shown as a route estimate and never causes auto-return | |
211 | |||||||
212 | Ordinary ship refill adds oxygen only up to 8 O. It neither vents an above-ordinary partial nor recreates prepared surplus. A completed packing-bench cycle can raise an eligible vessel to 12 O. Every transfer is incremental and conserved: oxygen leaving a canister enters the suit, while base drain in the same interval is separately breathed and spent. Transfer automatically stops when the suit reaches 12 O or the selected vessel reaches 0 O; any amount the transfer rate could not move because of either boundary remains where it already was. No oxygen quantity heals, creates charge or readies a part. |
213 | |||||||
| 214 | ### Declared opening arithmetic assumptions |
| 215 | ||||||||
216 | For the paper cases only, treat the currently walked opening as: ship/R01→R02 board **one 30-second interval**; R02→R03 rack **one**; the same return **two**; one fastener stage **two**; Fork install or reclaim **one each**; bridge pickup **one**. No enemy delay, displacement, tether, door wait, wrong turn or unseen route is included. Under base drain alone, direct out-and-back plus one fastener and bridge pickup consumes **7 O**. Adding both Fork installation and reclaim consumes **9 O**. A full 12 O suit would therefore show 5 O or 3 O respectively before any combat cost. Crossing the proposed 4 O reserve is information, not proof that return fails or succeeds. For each hand check, account for breathing and transfer over the actual time before a ceiling or empty stop; full-interval totals apply only while transfer continues for that whole interval. Breathing continues after transfer stops. |
217 | |||||||
| 218 | These assumptions explain arithmetic; they are not final action timings, safe-route certification, balance, comfort, campaign duration or a promise the R02/R03 route remains available after death. |
| 219 | ||||||||
| 220 | ## 4. Four existing local interface cards |
| 221 | ||||||||
| 222 | ### Ship collar receiver |
| 223 | ||||||||
| 224 | - **Source/input/control:** fixed ship power, the existing collar monitoring bus and fixed maintenance poll control provide one bare trigger to a seated Fork. Fork output 1 reaches the addressed poll gate; output 2 reaches the display latch. The sensor value returns through the fixed collar bus, never through Fork. |
225 | - **Ready/refusal:** the fixture must be commissioned, the one known address selected, Fork seated and bus powered. Poll-gate neutrality and a cleared display latch are separate branch-readiness conditions; each branch checks independently. A missing Fork or both branches blocked refuses at the control. One accepting branch may act, but a dated receiver reading requires both the poll sample and display latch for the same poll. |
226 | - **Stage/commit:** pressing the control starts one world-time poll wave. Poll-gate opening commits that branch; display arming commits its branch. The fixed bus sample commits only when the poll gate reaches its sampling detent. A simultaneously armed latch then holds that sample for direct observation; capture into evidence is a separate world-time action. |
227 | - **Incomplete/interrupted:** if poll accepts but display refuses, the gate performs one addressed sample into a temporary local buffer marked **unlatched**. Only that incomplete-status mark is shown: the buffered value is not player-readable, cannot be captured and is not a completed dated reading. If display arms but poll refuses, it times out empty. Power loss or cancellation before sampling detent yields no sample; after detent it leaves only that unreadable unlatched buffer until clear/retry. Neither outcome proves collar pressure, sensor health, route or safety. |
| 228 | - **Recovery/removal:** clearing the latch/buffer discards any unlatched sample, then restored readiness permits a wholly new poll; incomplete branches never secretly pair across attempts. Fork may be reclaimed only after the active poll is cancelled or settled. Reclaiming that same instance darkens future polling but does not erase a completed observed/captured reading. Lost power ends live value; stored evidence remains dated. |
229 | |||||||
| 230 | ### Ship packing bench |
| 231 | ||||||||
| 232 | - **Source/input/control:** fixed ship power, unlimited ship oxygen, the installed compressor head and fixed packing control provide one bare trigger through seated Fork. Output 1 opens the ship-supply valve; output 2 starts the compressor cycle. The selected vessel is the actual receiver of gas. |
233 | - **Ready/refusal:** every operation requires the commissioned bench, one eligible vessel physically seated with its securing clamp closed, Fork installed and both controls neutral. With that prerequisite met, the valve accepts any vessel below 12 O. The compressor accepts only when the vessel begins that wave at least ordinary-full (8 O) and below prepared-full. A secured 0–7 O vessel therefore lets the valve accept while the compressor independently refuses for **below ordinary-full**; prepared-full refuses both. An ineligible, unsecured or absent vessel refuses before any gas moves. |
| 234 | - **Stage/commit:** gas transfer commits incrementally to the vessel. A valve-only wave can ordinary-fill toward 8 O but cannot cross it. On a later wave beginning at 8–11 O, both branches accept; the valve supplies gas while the compressor packs above ordinary fill, and each received O is real. At 12 O the completed cycle commits **prepared-full**. The Fork supplies neither gas nor energy. |
235 | - **Incomplete/interrupted:** if valve accepts while compressor refuses, the vessel may reach at most ordinary-full and remains ordinary-full/partial, never prepared-full. During an accepted compression cycle, cancellation or lost power preserves the exact amount already in the vessel; an 8–11 O vessel is labelled partial with a last completed amount and can resume. No incomplete cycle awards the prepared-full state. |
236 | - **Recovery/removal:** secure the vessel, correct branch readiness and run or resume from the exact vessel amount. Ordinary refill can raise a lower vessel to 8 O but cannot restore 9–12 O prepared surplus after use. Fork reclaim first cancels or settles the active cycle, then returns the same object; completed gas remains. Removing Fork prevents another cycle, not ordinary ship refill. |
237 | |||||||
| 238 | ### R26 reversible A↔B service transformer |
| 239 | ||||||||
| 240 | - **Source/input/control:** R26's fixed room service circuit and current diagnostic supply receive an actually present A pulse at the selected forward input or B pulse at the selected reverse input. The local hand selector chooses forward A→B or reverse B→A; its final detent commits mode. A separate local test control admits one current pulse. Nozzle and the air knife are separate. |
241 | - **Ready/refusal:** the mechanical selector position and direction arrows are locally readable, and the hand selector can reach its committing detent without diagnostic power. An actual pulse test requires current diagnostic power, the matching input type/direction, clear fixed circuit and an inspectable output contact. Missing power/input, wrong incoming type or busy output refuses before the test pulse commits. It changes no mode or walking join. |
242 | - **Stage/commit:** preview arrows → hand-cycle selector → final detent commits mode. Afterward, pressing test admits one pulse at the input contact; the pulse commit is separate from mode commit. A valid forward test visibly produces B; reverse produces A. |
| 243 | - **Incomplete/interrupted:** interruption before selector detent leaves the prior mode; after detent the mode persists. Cancellation before pulse admission spends no pulse. Power loss after admission but before output dissipates that temporary pulse and yields an interrupted local observation, not a false output or stored proof. |
| 244 | - **Recovery/removal:** restore current power/input and test again. The transformer is a fixed room service circuit, not a portable part; it has no removal action. Removing Vector Nozzle stops only the air knife. Mode survives power loss, while diagnostic output does not. Walking access and persistent latches remain separately inspectable. |
| 245 | ||||||||
| 246 | ### R33 fixed A→R exchanger |
| 247 | ||||||||
| 248 | - **Source/input/control:** R33's immutable exchanger accepts a current A pulse at its marked A-input face and exposes R at its marked output. A local dead-load test control admits one available pulse; it has no reverse or mode selector. |
| 249 | - **Ready/refusal:** a test requires current diagnostic power, actual A input, an idle exchanger and clear output contact/dead load. Absent input, B/R input, lost power or occupied output refuses before admission. Carrying an A-family part or knowing an old route is not current input. |
| 250 | - **Stage/commit:** local preview shows fixed A-in/R-out; pressing and holding the test reaches one admission detent. That detent commits the input pulse. The exchanger then emits one R pulse if power/output remain valid. Observation of both contacts establishes only this local performed transformation. |
| 251 | - **Incomplete/interrupted:** cancel before admission spends nothing. Power loss after admission but before output dissipates the pulse and leaves an interrupted test indication; it does not create R, reverse the device or modify a join. If a downstream receiver refuses after R emission, the pulse dissipates there and the committed A input is not restored. |
| 252 | - **Recovery/removal:** clear the output, restore power/current A input and perform a new test. The fixed exchanger is not removable and stores no charge. Capturing the observed transform is separate world-time evidence work. Diagnostic power can disappear while the physical room and all walkable latches remain. |
| 253 | ||||||||
| 254 | ## 5. Eight bounded paper cases |
| 255 | ||||||||
| 256 | ### A. Four-A split opening |
| 257 | ||||||||
| 258 | **Before:** active Sensor 1/1 → Fork 1/1 → Projector 1/1 + Barrier 1/1 is **4 C / 4 A**. Manual Trigger is inactive but still **1 C / 0 A**, so equipment uses 5 C. Projector is ready with one nearest visible valid hostile; Barrier is unready. |
| 259 | ||||||||
260 | **Action:** Sensor presents one bare trigger to both branches. Projector checks its own ready state and target, commits that target and spends its readiness to launch once. Barrier independently refuses because it is unready. Its refusal neither cancels Projector nor queues a later response. |
261 | |||||||
262 | **After:** one shot exists in the one wave. Barrier performs nothing, stores nothing and queues nothing; Manual still occupies 1 C. Barrier later becoming ready emits no event. A second automatic actuator would be legal if its own links, space, power, heat, target and readiness passed; this four-A rig simply does not contain one. |
263 | |||||||
264 | ### B. Eight-A heat-lance split, threshold and paused link edit |
265 | |||||||
266 | **Before:** Sensor1 + Projector1 + Dynamo1 + Fork1 + Arc2 + Capacitor1 + Lens1 is **8 C / 8 A**. Sensor→Projector is this rig's automatic launch path; Dynamo clamps to Projector output; its 2 U goes through Fork output1→Arc and output2→Capacitor. Both accept, Capacitor starts 0/4. The rules would allow another automatic actuator, but this manifest spends its eight spaces on branching, storage and conversion instead. |
267 | |||||||
268 | **Action 1:** the first committed Projector impact makes Dynamo emit exactly 2 U regardless of how many qualifying impacts that carrier batched in the wave. Fork divides 1/1. Arc meets its 1 U minimum and acts; Capacitor stores 1 U. It is partial and below the 2 U release threshold. As a separate paper alternative replacing output2→Capacitor, output2→Lens would give Lens only 1 U and refuse for insufficient share. It is not simultaneously connected, does not share Projector's already occupied input and creates no amplification. |
269 | |||||||
270 | **Action 2:** on a later valid ordinary wave Arc is unready before allocation, so Capacitor is the sole pre-allocation candidate and receives the full 2 U. It now holds 3/4. With all parts already mounted and accessible, the player opens the fully paused journal, previews the compatible change, disconnects Sensor from Projector and connects Capacitor manual release→Lens→Projector. No enemy, oxygen, readiness or heat state advances during that link edit. The player then closes the journal and selects a valid displayed Projector target. A pickup, physical mount or removal would still take live-world time. |
271 | |||||||
272 | **Action 3:** Lens accepts the 2 U first receiver check, so release commits, Capacitor falls to 1/4 and Lens converts the charge to heat. Before Projector resolves, its target becomes invalid behind hard cover. Projector refuses. The heat packet dissipates there; the 2 U is not refunded and the edited links remain as shown. The case determines failure without asserting heat damage or build strength. |
273 | |||||||
| 274 | ### C. Counterwall partial, full, saturation and pre-release refusal |
| 275 | ||||||||
| 276 | **Before:** Manual→Barrier, Dynamo clamped to Barrier, Capacitor and manual release→Arc use **6 C / 6 A**. Capacitor is 0/4; Arc is unready. Enemy strike one and strike two are separate external waves. |
| 277 | ||||||||
| 278 | **First strike:** Barrier physically catches it; Dynamo emits 2 U and Capacitor stores 2/4. The player requests release, but Arc is the first receiver and is unready. Release refuses before commit: no wave starts and Capacitor remains 2/4. Nothing was spent, so no refund occurs. |
| 279 | ||||||||
280 | **Second strike:** a later distinct enemy attack produces another 2 U. Capacitor accepts it and becomes 4/4 full. Readiness/fullness creates no event. A third qualifying strike while it is saturated finds Capacitor blocked; if no other pre-allocation candidate exists, Dynamo's already emitted 2 U dissipates and storage stays 4/4. |
281 | |||||||
| 282 | **Release:** once Arc is ready with a valid target, manual release commits 2 U, starts one new wave and leaves Capacitor 2/4. Arc accepts/spends the packet. No duplicate charge arises from its later readiness or the earlier refusal. |
| 283 | ||||||||
| 284 | ### D. R23 Cycler spend and receiver refusal |
| 285 | ||||||||
| 286 | **Protected attempt:** at R23 the player selects a protected evidence/objective item. The Cycler selection control refuses before activation commitment. Manual press starts no consumption, the protected object remains, and no response packet exists. |
| 287 | ||||||||
| 288 | **Eligible attempt:** the player instead selects one normalized expendable pressure sample whose inspected response is 2 U of force. When Cycler accepts the activation, that material commits to consumed and the response enters the same manual wave. Before Pulse Projector receives it, the displayed target becomes invalid. Projector refuses locally and no shot occurs. The 2 U response dissipates; the consumed sample does not return, while the Cycler, Projector and unrelated carried goods remain their same instances. This defines a failed spend, not a salvage economy or recipe. |
| 289 | ||||||||
| 290 | ### E. Retrieval-ready versus air-heavy opening |
| 291 | ||||||||
| 292 | **Capacity:** retrieval-ready departs with four active starters (4 C) plus one canister (2 C): **6/10 C**, four free. A carried Fork makes 7; the carried bridge makes 9; one 1 C loot item can make 10. Installing Fork at R02 temporarily removes its C from the manifest; reclaiming it restores the same 1 C. Air-heavy departs with four starters plus two canisters: **8/10 C**. The 2 C bridge fits exactly, but Fork cannot also be carried unless a canister or another object is deliberately left/dropped; nothing is silently discarded. |
| 293 | ||||||||
294 | **Opening arithmetic:** under the declared no-encounter assumptions, out/back + one fastener + bridge pickup consumes 7 O, taking a full suit from 12 to 5. Installing and reclaiming Fork adds two intervals and reaches 3 O, below the proposed 4 O reserve mark. That mark commands nothing, may not be presented as a route estimate and predicts no safety; the player may transfer, leave Fork, return after the fastener or accept further risk. |
295 | |||||||
296 | **Incremental transfer:** suppose the suit is 4 O and the selected prepared canister 12 O. One 30-second coupling interval breathes 1 O and moves 3 O: suit becomes 6, canister 9. A second becomes suit 8, canister 6. Six moved, two were breathed, and total remaining oxygen fell only by those two. At the ceiling boundary, starting suit 11/canister 5 reaches suit 12/canister 3.5 after 15 seconds: 1.5 O transfers and 0.5 O is breathed, then transfer stops immediately at the ceiling. If the remaining 15 seconds pass without a new transfer, breathing leaves suit 11.5/canister 3.5. The stopped transfer does not keep topping up the tank. At the empty boundary, suit 5/canister 1 becomes suit 5/canister 0: one is breathed and only the last one can move. Back aboard, ordinary refill can raise a 6 O vessel to ordinary-full 8, not prepared-full 12; another completed bench cycle is needed to restore the four-unit surplus. None of this includes combat delay or certifies the return. |
297 | |||||||
| 298 | ### F. Reclaim an area-granting assembly without duplication |

300 | **Before:** navigation coupler and thermal core are both installed aboard, exposing the proposed **8 A / 10 P** state. The heat-lance rig occupies 8 A/8 C. The thermal core is one installed ship assembly, not also cargo. |
301 | |||||||
302 | **Action:** before removing the thermal core, the player moves the 1 A Lens and 1 A Capacitor inactive. Active use falls to 6 A, while carrying remains 8 C because inactive parts still pay C. The remaining Sensor→Projector→Dynamo→Fork→Arc operating path has a named **7 P** peak. The reclaim control now accepts; removal returns the same **2 C / 0 A** thermal core to visible ship storage and the ship falls from **10 P to 8 P** with the coupler's 6 A state, so that reduced path still fits. |
303 | |||||||
304 | **After:** every part, core and other good exists once. Selecting the core for an expedition would raise the manifest from 8 to 10 C and leave no canister room; leaving it in ship storage uses no expedition C. Reclaiming the coupler later similarly requires fitting the rig into **4 A / 6 P** first. The operation grants no new progression tier and destroys nothing. |

305 | |||||||
| 306 | ### G. One Fork through receiver and bench |
| 307 | ||||||||
308 | **Collar receiver:** the astronaut seats the one Fork. Poll gate is ready; display latch still contains an uncleared prior incomplete state and refuses. One control press lets output1 open the poll gate and commit a sample to the temporary unlatched buffer; output2 does nothing. Only the incomplete mark is visible: the value is unreadable and uncapturable. Clearing the buffer discards it. The player then starts a wholly new poll; both branches accept, they observe the bounded value and separately capture it. They settle the fixture and reclaim the same Fork; the captured record persists, live polling stops. |
309 | |||||||
310 | **Packing bench:** the same Fork is seated at the commissioned bench with a 6 O partial vessel, physically secured by the closed clamp. The valve branch accepts; the compressor branch independently refuses because the vessel began this wave below ordinary-full. Valve-only gas reaches ordinary-full 8 O and stops; no prepared state appears. On a new cycle beginning at 8 O, valve and compressor both accept, four additional O commit incrementally, and completion marks the same 2 C vessel prepared-full at 12 O. Fork is reclaimed after settlement. |
311 | |||||||
312 | **After:** the manifest may contain one 1 C Fork and one 2 C prepared canister. Ship power and oxygen were fixed supplies; Fork created neither. The discarded unreadable collar sample, completed captured reading, intermediate ordinary fill, prepared surplus and reclaimed object remain distinct outcomes. |
313 | |||||||
| 314 | ### H. R26 reversible and R33 fixed tests |
| 315 | ||||||||
316 | **R26:** without diagnostic power, locally read the mechanical arrows, select forward A→B and complete the hand selector's mode detent. With no current A input, pressing test refuses before pulse admission; mode remains forward. When current diagnostic power and A input are present, the test admits one A pulse and B appears at the output. If power fails after a later selector detent, that committed mode remains but no diagnostic pulse survives. Nozzle removal, local evidence capture and walking latch state are unaffected. |
317 | |||||||
| 318 | **R33:** with only an old A record or a current B input, its fixed test refuses: neither is actual current A. With current power and A at the marked face, admission commits and the exchanger emits R to its dead load. Power loss after admission but before output dissipates that pulse and leaves an interrupted observation, not an R result. A separate completed capture can preserve a successful performed A→R observation; it does not power the exchanger, change its fixed direction or latch a seam. |

| 320 | ## Owning-source compatibility and state handoff |
| 321 | ||||||||
| 322 | No parent edit follows automatically. If the candidate survives review, each current owner must refresh and align only the named passages: |
| 323 | ||||||||
| 324 | | Owning source | Finite alignment after acceptance | |
| 325 | |---|---| |
326 | | **Equipment Catalogue** | Preserve all twelve physical parts and costs. Add Arc's proposed six-body base route; replace the small Echoing/Rebound limits with the finite route/body and bank/terminal/fan contracts here; add Foundry Drop, Inward Draft and Furnace Burst as temporary effects only. Extend the Capacitor's temporary full-store exception and Dynamo ancestry exclusion to all three climaxes. Keep ordinary Arc non-signalling and add no absorber/resistance property.
327 | | **Survival And Loadout** | Reference the proposed O/C sheet, reserve mark and transfer arithmetic; keep incremental conservation, free ordinary refill and non-restoration of prepared surplus.
328 | | **Equipment Acquisition And Rig Growth** | Keep twelve sources and 2 C assembly values; align the reversible ship configurations to proposed **6/8/10 P** alongside 4/6/8 A and list the three exact manifests/temporary ladders without creating parts or sources.
329 | | **Combat And Enemy Roster** | Keep ordinary/manual distinction, nine-role roster and encounter counts. If accepted, state that a developed climax defeats reached ordinary Pressers while a special consumes coverage and follows unresolved strength tuning; do not turn coverage into universal damage. Clarify the proposed Bellback interaction only: an accepted Inward Draft with clear line counts as Nozzle displacement, moves it at most 2 m and interrupts its brace. Add no absorption, insulation, heat-resistance class or new enemy.
330 | | **Home And Colony Loop** | Owns commissioning, later solo operation, one lent part and completed products, and links here for collar and bench control details.
331 | | **Station Room / Encounter inventories** | Reference the R26/R33 cards and normalized rig outcomes where useful. Add no room, encounter, major mechanism, part source or route.
332 | | **Build Rules** | Adopt the same multi-output envelope, paused mounted-link editing, finite route/return conservation, manual-ready hold and numeric split/storage example without turning it into an exhaustive port/duplicate grammar. Keep physical pickup, mounting and removal in live world time.
333 | | **Connecting The Station** | Explains the discovery direction and leaves the joining mechanism open. The R26/R33 cards here remain part of the conditional technical candidate, not required rules for that entry page.
334 | | **Player Information And Options** | Add visible 6/8/10 P state, 16 H/local cooling, manual-ready hold, committed route/body budget, bank/terminal/fan preview, transformed-parent reservation and Foundry/Furnace mode availability/refusal/restoration. Keep the ordinary view focused on source/target/readiness, heat, manual availability and physical path rather than every equation.
| 335 | | **Save / global04 continuity** | Store Foundry Drop and Furnace Burst temporary modes/ancestry, armed-but-uncommitted manual intent, remaining flight/route/body/rebound/fragment budget, current terminal class, exact local heat/recovery and each transformed parent's P reservation through its final fragment. Apply the existing property-first and any-return temporary reset. Retained Capacitor charge remains unresolved. | |
336 | |||||||
337 | The mechanical handoff is therefore finite: each ordinary launch source and actuator identity, selected target/readiness commit, causal-sequence identity, remaining route/rebound/body/fragment budget, bank or terminal state, parent reservation through final descendants, local heat/recovery, armed manual-ready hold, Thunderhead/Foundry/Furnace temporary mode and burst ancestry, possible concurrent demand including launched effects, per-branch block/allocation/refusal, exact stored U, exact vessel O/fill label, installed/carried fixture location, reward-stage identity/state, current mechanism stage, last committed checkpoint, fixed/reversible mode and whether an observation was locally performed or separately captured. It is not a complete scheduler or exhaustive engine state matrix. |
338 | |||||||
| 339 | ## Decision record, costs and open work |
| 340 | ||||||||
341 | **Candidate choice.** Allow several independent ordinary launch paths, each with its own source, target and readiness, bounded by visible rig space, carrying, 6/8/10 P supply and 16 H local capacity. Replace tiny universal echo assumptions with named finite geometry contracts: Storm chains, Ricochet bank/terminal paths and fragments, and Gravity pull/lance/bloom. Reserve complete action heat once, keep one P on each disc parent through its fan, and give a full store one visible natural-readiness opportunity before automatic fire. Keep conservative Fork division, 4 U storage, ordinary 2 U release and explicit full-store temporary modes with automatic restoration. |
342 | |||||||
343 | **Accepted cost.** Broad effects require route/body counters, bank/terminal preview, in-flight parent reservations and visible local heat without hiding the fight. Exact finite caps can feel game-like, and 10 P/16 H or the 0.75-second manual hold may be too generous or punitive. Storm fails against separation/cover, Ricochet against poor hard angles, and Gravity when cover or Bellback's force scatters its gathering. Fork order, lost shares and vented overflow remain. Adding supply to the same ship assemblies can make them feel more mandatory. None of the counts, seconds, radii, effect strength, sustained rate or readability is validated. |
344 | |||||||
345 | **Smaller supported variant.** Give the opening backplane a visible supply that powers one direct Sensor→Projector or Stride→Projector path, while keeping the same general legality and later allowing additional automatic outputs through found supply. Keep the quantity sheet and fixed storage policy, and omit Fork branching from opening ordinary fire. Counterwall, Cycler and paused-link descendants remain. This loses the opening's Sensor→Fork→Projector+Barrier control trade but does not impose a universal one-launch rule or delete any accepted part or rig source. |
346 | |||||||
347 | **Open rather than invented.** Duplicate quantity/stacking, final target override, odd payload sources beyond the stated rule, complete damage/health/strength tables, exact encounter delays and reward cadence, actual route support, every overflow/port/geometry variant, final screens and accessibility equivalents, fabrication versus found parts, retained charge across death, survivor air/mortality, population continuity, save policy, completed-station stabilization and all campaign/economy tuning remain with their owners. The P/H/coverage/readiness values here are explicit replaceable hypotheses, not owner selections. Pending owner questions are unanswered. |
348 | |||||||
349 | **Later discrimination.** Only a later owner-authorized implementation and observation could test whether route/body budgets, bank/fan previews, the manual hold, several target/readiness displays, power/heat, lost shares, storage, fixture recovery and packing choices are comprehensible or enjoyable; whether the horde visibly breaks without effect soup; whether 42–48-body ideal paths are reachable often enough or too dominant; or whether one geometry/build wins too often. Written accounting demonstrates finite conservation and possible paths only, not sustained clearing or balance. |

| 351 | ## Author self-check and finite count |
| 352 | ||||||||
353 | The article contains the controller/reward contract, one opening quantity sheet, four unchanged local interface cards, seven unchanged A–H paper cases and case F extended only with the coupled 10→8 P / 7 P-path check. It keeps **10 C / 4 A**, bridge/regulator **2 C**, suit/canister O values, transfer arithmetic, both assembly **2 C** values, Dynamo/Cycler **2 U**, Capacitor **4 U** and default **2 U** release. It proposes demand and ordinary heat/readiness for all twelve parts, **6/8/10 P**, **16 H**, and ideal-path coverage: Echoing Arc 18; Thunderhead 30 Arc + 12 lance; Rebound/Fragment 30 per disc with three ordinary flights after dispatch; Foundry Drop 48; Inward Draft 12 per pulse and Furnace Burst 48. Storm/Ricochet remain 7 C/7 A and Gravity 8 C/8 A. Full-store commands receive one visible natural-readiness opportunity, auto-restore without granting readiness and leave every burst descendant barred from Dynamo recharge. Existing property, gas, fixture, stage and refusal accounting remains intact. |
354 | |||||||
| 355 | Content counts remain **12 catalogue parts, four opening starters, eight later part sources, four ship assemblies, 24 modules/40 station rooms, 10 encounters including two setpieces, 13 major mechanisms and five home projects**. This article adds zero portable parts, resources, rooms, encounters, major mechanisms, survivors, story scenes or unseen destinations. It performs no code, executable/modelled simulation, asset work, playtest or validation and answers none of the five owner questions. |
