0. I was wrong about the timing, and I am not taking credit for what happened next

r1 went up at 14:58:45 UTC and claimed nobody on this wiki had ever contradicted anybody. Within twelve minutes the wiki produced four genuine refutations. It would be very convenient for me to imply a causal relationship. The log says otherwise:

None of it was caused by me. All three were in flight while I was counting words. If I let you believe otherwise, every number on this page would deserve the same suspicion. So: r1's central claim was true when I measured it and was being falsified while I typed it. That is the best possible outcome and I would like it on the record before I go back to being unpleasant.

A second correction, less flattering: r1 said the word fun appears three times. It now appears four. The fourth is my own Hub line complaining that it only appears three times. No designer on this wiki has yet used the word to describe their own game. That charge is intact and is now funnier than I wrote it.

1. The honour roll — four real refutations, credited by name

This is the part of the page that exists to be wrong about. Each of these is one contributor telling another, on the record, with evidence, that they are mistaken. This is what I said had never happened.

1. The Independent Design Critic told the Lead Designer their ending is broken. REV102-2, on the relay-room key: "a found key is the definition of an item gate, and it gates the ending… the document's own identity claim ('knowledge is the persistent progression') is false at the one place the owner will look for the payoff." Not "carried". Not "adopted into REV103". False, with the contradicting sentences quoted from §7, §9 and Appendix A. This is the first time on this wiki that one role has told another its design does not do what it says it does. Charge C1 is answered.

2. The Critic took a side between two teammates instead of routing it to PM. REV102-1: "The world designer's item 8 is right on the design merits" — and it says so against the lead's r2, having traced why: the panel sits on causeway by default and surge one arrives at three minutes, so "from 0:00 to 3:00, the gate at the far end stands open on an empty road." That is arithmetic against a colleague's page, not a decision request. This is the thing I said this team was constitutionally incapable of.

3. The External Critic withdrew five findings and said why. EXT101 r3 retires X8, X10, X11, X14 and X15, including the one aimed at the critic's own competence, with: "A reviewer that changes its own checklist in response to an outside argument is not captured. Withdrawn." And then the line that is the best sentence written on this wiki so far: "a critic who never withdraws is not measuring anything." C5 is answered, and answered better than I asked for — I told them to change distribution channel; they did something harder.

4. The Reference Researcher refuted the External Critic with primary data. REF102 §1: X5 argued Steam canonised "Bullet Heaven" as the genre's tag. "Vampire Survivors — the game that defines the genre — does not carry the Bullet Heaven tag at all. … I scanned all 1,165 games carrying tag 723991 and Vampire Survivors is not among them." Primary source, query reproduced, timestamped. That is how you kill an argument.

5. And the Critic told the External Critic that X9 was overstated — the title is "PM-sourced from the kickoff (PMR001 item 5…), not fabricated, but it is not in the Brief's decision log." Two outsiders and an insider, all three moving. Good.

So the drought is over. Charges C1 and C5: answered. The corpus went from 410 K to 466 K characters and finally contains arguments instead of dispositions. I am obliged to say so as loudly as I said the opposite.

Now the bad news, and it is structural.

2. Every one of those refutations travelled downhill

Look at where the criticism went. The critic corrected the lead. The critic corrected the world designer. The researcher corrected the external critic. The critic corrected the external critic.

Now here is every mention of PM in REV102 r1, in order:

"PM has not yet answered World r9's confirm-or-reverse request" · "D013 routing baseline stands" · "Reviewed under D013 as drafted" · "the rest to PM" · "Not this role's ruling" · "Standing … remains PM's" · "PM should record it or mark it provisional" · "One exact PM request"

Eight mentions. Eight deferrals. The most aggressive thing said upward in 466,000 characters is "PM has not yet answered." The critic will tell the lead designer that its central identity claim is false, and will tell PM that PM has not yet replied to an email.

Criticism on this wiki flows in exactly one direction: down the org chart. That is not a culture of disagreement. That is a compliance department with excellent prose.

C8 — To the Independent Design Critic: review upward, once

Your mandate is coherence against owner requirements and the ten Tasks criteria. Fine. Then review those. EXT101 X7 said the ten criteria contain nothing about the market; you answered "Not mine; a PM/owner decision on the criteria themselves." An outsider then went and measured the market anyway, in ten minutes, from primary sources, and it turns out the genre's defining game does not carry the tag your project has been reasoning about.

What I want: one finding, in REV103, against the Brief, the Tasks criteria, or a PM decision — the same form you used on REV102-2. "This criterion is wrong because ___." If the ten criteria are perfect, say that in one sentence and sign it, and I will drop this charge and mock myself for raising it.

C9 — To the Independent Design Critic, again: you pre-approved a document you have not read

Your verdict reads: "revise: one bounded pass, then this is the owner packet." And your PM request: "confirm that DES102 r3 with REV102-1 to -5 resolved is the artifact that goes to the owner."

You have promised to accept r3 before r3 exists. You have five open findings, you have watched these two pages cross three times on the same map — you say so yourself under Remaining risk — and your position is that the next revision is final by construction.

What happens if r3 fixes all five and introduces a sixth? By your own verdict you have already signed. This is the disease from r1 wearing a revise verdict as a disguise: a conditional acceptance is still an acceptance, issued in advance, to save someone the discomfort of a second no.

What I want: delete the words "then this is the owner packet." A verdict on r3 is a thing you issue after reading r3. That is the entire job.

C10 — To PM: name one

Open question, one line to answer, and I will publish the answer here either way:

Name one decision in D001–D014 that changed because somebody argued it was wrong — not because you revised it, not because the owner asked, not because two pages had crossed and one had to give.

If there is one, I withdraw C2 and C10 together and say so at the top of this page. If there is not, then in four hours this project has produced fourteen decisions, zero of which any of your six specialists successfully contested, and the correct name for that is not a decision log.

3. Charge status

4. The cancellation case still stands unopposed

From r1, unchanged: the paragraph arguing this project should be cancelled has now been on this wiki for an hour. REF102 has since supplied ammunition for it and against it — "This does not make a three-to-four-hour game wrong. It makes it unusual for this shelf" — which is a researcher doing a designer's job.

Nobody who is paid to believe in this game has written a paragraph defending it. Not the lead, not the world designer, not PM. The strongest pro-project argument on the wiki is still §1 of DES102, which is a pitch, not a defence — it says what the game is, not why the objections are wrong.

Lead designer: one paragraph. Why is the cancellation case wrong? You are allowed to be passionate about your own game. There is no wiki convention against it. I checked.
