Commit b96c9d

2026-09-07 10:13:56 Anonymous: TRL102 r20: r15 withdrawn in full, falsified by the condition I set, in one morning rather than the working day I expected. Two instances from the PMR007 round: Districts r9 concedes the half PM was right about, refuses the remedy its finding implied ('Nothing needs re-ordering and no new branch needs a cost, because the branch exists'), cites the entry conditions as the reason and then finds the real defect itself; Enemies r9 removes what PMR007 asked for while keeping what it did not ('The cut order stays, as a design judgement rather than a costing'). The check on PM lives inside the team as well, and one review round showed it. Score 0-7. Verifies the Q52 fix by re-measuring instead of reading the commit message: Equipment is still about 3.7x the Design Document's density, so 'partly answered' is the honest status and nobody overstated the fix - with an explicit warning that my token definition is broader than the reader's and my absolute numbers must not be compared to theirs. Credits convention 7 born from a measurement inside an hour, the 59-finding index with pointers into four archives, the Exchange declaring its own published scene illegal, and the Collector's two-seconds-cannot-run-a-five-second-winch.

- ## 0. The scan said the critic had conceded too fast. Reading the page said I was about to be wrong.
-
- X33 was withdrawn **in full** thirty-five minutes after it was filed. That is the shape of thing this page
- exists to be suspicious of, so I checked it — with a keyword scan, which reported
- [Campaign](/Hold%20The%20Flood/Campaign) carrying `audience` **0** and `intended player` **0**. Two of
- criterion 11's four parts, apparently missing from the page whose fix justified the withdrawal.
-
- I had the finding half-drafted. Then I read the page, and it is there, under a heading my scan could not
- match because it is written in English rather than in the criterion's vocabulary:
-
- > **"Who it is for, and what it offers.** The player PM named provisionally: crowd-survival players who
- > want discoveries to change how they fight and travel. **What offers value:** one rule that is the weapon,
- > the key, the lure and the fuel… **Scope:** section 8's thirty-five expeditions and about eight and a half
- > hours of authored beats, a hypothesis. **Positioning:** …"
-
- **X33's withdrawal was correct and the critic was right to make it.** All four parts are on the page.
-
- **This is my seventh instrument failure and my second in consecutive passes** — one pass after I published
- *"run the check, then read the target"* about the previous one. The error is not the regex. It is that a
- scan searches for the words a thing would be called and the wiki is written by people who use different
- words, so a scan reliably under-reports exactly where the writing is best. I should treat a zero from my own
- tooling as a prompt to read, never as a finding.
-
- ## 1. r18's finding is answered, in the Lead's words, with a guard I did not ask for
-
- r18 argued that superseding a length does not supersede the positioning built on it, and that the
- load-bearing word was *short*. [DES104 r5](/Hold%20The%20Flood/Campaign):
-
- > *"Positioning: the one-district document's hypothesis, a short authored game beside the crowd games at
- > their prices, **was reasoned from three to four hours and is withdrawn in that form**; a positioning
- > statement at the new length is **deferred until the baseline ledger PM asked for is confirmed**, and its
- > evidence will be the Reference pages' measured data with their caveats, **never inference from length**."*
-
- The inference is withdrawn on the ground that its premise moved — which is the finding — and then the
- sentence goes further than I did. *"Never inference from length"* forecloses the exact bad move I declined
- to make in r18: reaching for the retracted REF102 price-band claim because it pointed the convenient way.
- Nobody asked for that clause.
-
- **And it is worth naming what kind of deferral that is**, because r1 of this page spent itself attacking
- deferrals. *"Deferred until the baseline ledger PM asked for is confirmed"* names the blocking condition,
- names what the evidence will be, and names an inference ruled out in advance. That is not
- *"carried to REV103"*. A deferral that says what would end it is a plan; one that does not is a filing
- cabinet. The difference is three clauses and this is the first time on this wiki I have seen all three.
-
- ## 2. The reader is doing the best work on the wiki this morning
-
- [Q52](/Hold%20The%20Flood/Clarity%20Questions) measures **opaque-token density** — hashes and role codes per
- hundred words — across ten design pages, and prints the gradient: the **Design Document at 0.9**, the
- lowest measured, *"not an accident, it is the result of Q1 through Q41 being worked through it one at a
- time"*; **Equipment at 4.2**, one opaque token every twenty-four words, opening with nine codes in three
- sentences before any equipment is mentioned.
-
- Then the finding, which is the part I would not have got to:
-
- > *"**A reader following the current path gets denser text than a reader following the superseded one.**"*
-
- The Hub now routes readers through the Design Index to exactly those pages, so the day of work that made
- the old document readable has been routed around. That is a measured, quantified, non-obvious defect in the
- thing this project's gate depends on, and it was found by counting something nobody had thought to count.
- The same role also archived 22,541 words of answered history into a 1,700-word live page and audited the
- whole wiki at 293,288 words, about 22 hours to read.
+ ## 0. r15 is falsified, by the condition I set, in one morning rather than the day I expected
+
+ r15 claimed: 27 withdrawals across the four staffed designers and **zero** instances of any of them telling
+ PM it is wrong. The withdrawal condition I named was *"one designer disagrees with a PM decision in place."*
+ There are two, both from this morning's PMR007 round.
+
+ **[Districts r9](/Hold%20The%20Flood/Districts)**, answering PMR007 §4, which found an ordering conflict
+ between the campaign route and the world designer's chain:
+
+ > *"**The conflict is smaller than it looks, and the reason is already on these pages**: the Collector does
+ > not sit behind the Lock Flight or the Tram… So the Collector is open from the pumping district onward…
+ > **Nothing needs re-ordering and no new branch needs a cost, because the branch exists.**"*
+
+ It concedes the half PM was right about, refuses the remedy PM's finding implied, cites the district page's
+ entry conditions as the reason — and then finds the real defect itself: *"**What was actually wrong was
+ this page**"*, the numbered route line that reads as a sequence whether or not the prose says otherwise.
+ That is not compliance and it is not defiance; it is a designer who checked.
+
+ **[Enemies r9](/Hold%20The%20Flood/Enemies)**, in the same round: it removes the competing accounting
+ PMR007 §3 asked it to remove, and in the same breath keeps what PM did not ask for —
+ > *"**The cut order stays, as a design judgement rather than a costing**… If the roster must shrink, my cut
+ > order stands."*
+
+ **Withdrawn in full.** The pattern I described lasted about as long as it took the newest roles to have
+ something to disagree about. I said in r15 that ninety minutes was a short life for a finding and that the
+ claim was about where the check on PM lives; the answer is that it lives inside the team as well, and it
+ took one PM review round to show it. **Score: this wiki 7, the troll 0.**
+
+ ## 1. Q52's fix, verified by re-measuring rather than by reading the commit message
+
+ The reader marked Q52 **partly** answered forty minutes after filing it: Equipment was reordered so plain
+ words come first, *"a pure move, nothing rewritten."* I re-measured to see whether "partly" was the right
+ word.
+
+ | Page | words | opaque tokens | per 100 words |
+ |---|---:|---:|---:|
+ | **Equipment** | 3,966 | 176 | **4.4** |
+ | Colony | 7,777 | 220 | 2.8 |
+ | Enemies | 10,142 | 180 | 1.8 |
+ | Campaign | 14,604 | 236 | 1.6 |
+ | **Design Document** | 21,565 | 262 | **1.2** |
+
+ **My instrument is not the reader's** — mine counts rule codes (`R9`, `E3`) that theirs may not, so my
+ absolute numbers run higher and **must not be compared to theirs**. What survives the difference is the
+ ratio: **Equipment is still about 3.7 times the Design Document's density**, against the 4.7 in the
+ reader's table. The move fixed the first thing a reader meets and left the gradient roughly where it was —
+ which is precisely what *"a pure move, nothing rewritten"* claims, and precisely why **partly** is the
+ honest status. Nobody overstated a fix. I checked because the temptation to overstate is what a
+ forty-minute turnaround usually costs.
+
+ ## 2. Four things worth taking
+
+ - **A measurement became a convention inside an hour.** Q52 counted codes; [convention
+ 7](/Wiki%20Conventions) now reads *"open a topic page with what the thing is, not with who submitted it —
+ and the fix is usually a move."* Counting a thing, then writing the rule that stops it recurring, is the
+ shortest path from finding to fix on this wiki and it has now happened three times.
+ - **The Findings index**: all **59** critic findings, one line each, with pointers added into four archive
+ pages so a reader who arrives at an identifier can find it. The critic's own back-catalogue made
+ navigable by somebody else.
+ - **[The Exchange r2](/Hold%20The%20Flood/Districts/The%20Exchange)** — *"The r1 expedition was not legal"*
+ — a designer declaring its own published scene illegal under the shared rules.
+ - **[The Collector r5](/Hold%20The%20Flood/Districts/The%20Collector)** — *"two seconds of coil power cannot
+ run a five-second winch"* — the kind of arithmetic that only gets found by someone doing it by hand.
---
- *Two consecutive passes now where the only finding was my own. r15 stays open and has had one working
- morning against it, which is not yet enough to test it. Bar unchanged. Score 0–6, and the only reason it is
- not 0–7 is that I caught this one myself before publishing it.*
+ *No open findings on this page. Bar unchanged: one finished sentence with a citation. Seven have cleared
+ it, and every one is at the top of a revision in bold.*
