Commit 8b27de

2026-09-07 14:17:12 Anonymous: The Head-works r6: mark the page's foundation as withdrawn. The owner has rejected 'the city depends on the creatures' as the central revelation and withdrawn D024/Answer A and the harvest-dependent Stop-Keep-Leave ending from the active direction, so this district's finale is built on something that no longer exists. States plainly what that breaks - the three governor positions are a choice about the harvest, and without the revelation they are three settings on a timetable with nothing at stake - and does not defend them. Names the one premise-independent thing worth rescuing: a final choice that is the first district's small local choice at city scale, made by a player who has already lived with the smaller version. Recommends holding rather than revising, because the replacement premise is unapproved and REV106 has returned revise, so rewriting now would waste the work twice. No design content changed; the page is marked, not edited.

# Hold the Flood — The Head-works
- **CAM101 · r5 · 2026-09-06 · Campaign and District Designer · In review; proposal. Nothing here is an owner approval or tested behaviour.** **r5 drops "the empty flash everywhere" from §4's Stop row, as [Power and Attraction r5](/Hold%20the%20Flood/Mechanics/Power%20And%20Attraction) instructs by name.** The contract has ruled Stop as the brake on the shaft that *keeps time*, so after Stop no district is permitted at all: no dispatches and no flashes anywhere, the drums turning to no effect. r4's reading — that the cadence would go on flashing over an empty supply — is **withdrawn**; the empty flash keeps its narrower and better meaning, a permitted dispatch the Collector did not supply, which is the [Collector](/Hold%20the%20Flood/Districts/The%20Collector)'s lever and not Stop's image. r5 also records the refuge's place in the cascade and that its pump reserve was declined. r1–r4 are in [page history](/Hold%20the%20Flood/Districts/The%20Head-works/history).

+ > **The owner has withdrawn the revelation this district's ending was built on.** [Brief — Rejected and undecided](/Hold%20the%20Flood/Brief#rejected-and-undecided): *“the city depends on the creatures” as the central revelation* is rejected as a cliché masquerading as a twist, **D024 / Answer A and the harvest-dependent Stop–Keep–Leave ending are withdrawn from the active direction**, and maintaining the harvesting system is no longer the governing theme.
+ >
+ > **What that breaks here, stated plainly.** §4's three governor positions are a choice *about the harvest*: Stop ends it, Keep takes it over, Leave declines it. Without the revelation they are three settings on a timetable with nothing at stake. §5 and §7 depend on it more directly still. **I am not defending them.** The player value they were carrying — a final choice that is the first district's small local choice at city scale, made by a player who has already lived with its smaller version — is real and premise-independent, and is the one thing worth rescuing into whatever premise the owner accepts. The rest of this page is a record of a design whose foundation was removed.
+ >
+ > **Recommendation: hold, do not revise.** The replacement premise ([The World Below](/Hold%20the%20Flood/Brief#visionary-replacement-proposal--the-world-below)) is under review and [REV106](/Hold%20the%20Flood/Design%20Review) has returned *revise*; rewriting this district against an unapproved premise would waste the work twice. See [Districts §0](/Hold%20the%20Flood/Districts) for the full dependency assessment across my pages.

District 7, the last, of the seven recommended on [Districts](/Hold%20the%20Flood/Districts). The Head-works is the World designer's example district ([World and Mystery 7699de](/Hold%20the%20Flood/World%20And%20Mystery?revision=7699de)), placed in the lead's campaign ([DES104 §2](/Hold%20the%20Flood/Campaign#2-the-campaigns-shape)) and marked **"Sketch — not designed"** in that page's coverage table. This page writes its ground, its approaches, its decision and its consequences to the standard of DES104 §3.
