The premise changed and this page did not know. The Visionary's replacement, The World Below, is live across six to thirteen pages each for Hearth, Bell House, Choir Cascade, Echo Relay, heat cell and the cast, and none of it was here - while this page's opening still described the surveyor and the drowned district as current. Adds a note saying which half is which, and a World Below section with every line lifted from the page that owns it. The earlier vocabulary is kept and marked, because the rules are largely carried forward and the words are needed to read any revision from before today. Districts and cast use pointer rows rather than enumerations, for the reason recorded two passes ago.

## The World Below — the current premise
+
+
*Every line below is lifted from the page that owns it. The editor has defined nothing.*
+
+
| Word | Plain meaning | Defined at |
+
|---|---|---|
+
| **The World Below** | The replacement premise: a discovery-driven survivorlike about a **refuge-raised scavenger-inventor** who enters drowned ruins under horde pressure, brings home power and lost knowledge, and wires those discoveries into outrageous machines for people they know. The player is *"not a surveyor maintaining somebody else's system"* but an inventor deciding how their community uses a larger inheritance. | [Brief](/Hold%20The%20Flood/Brief#visionary-replacement-proposal-the-world-below) |
+
| **Hearth** | The refuge: the dry roof of a flooded sanctuary. Its people believe the nearby rooftops and upper halls are all that remain accessible. [Colony](/Hold%20The%20Flood/Colony) owns its structure and growth. | Brief; Colony |
+
| **The Flood** *(under this premise)* | The overwhelming mass of creatures that pours through submerged streets and chambers **when water and noise disturb it**. Its origin remains a mystery; it is a threat, not a villain. | Brief |
+
| **The layers** | Below Hearth's roof, inhabited dry halls divided by flooded cisterns, service rings and drainage shafts where the Flood gathers and migrates. Every layer has safe human interiors and dangerous wet edges. | Brief |
+
| **Bell House** | A half-submerged building across the nearest square, holding the failing heat cell. The **first goal** is to bring that cell home before the next cold night — *"the human reason for the trip, not a hidden countdown or campaign-ending failure clock."* | Brief |
+
| **Heat cell** | **Project cargo, not equipment or generic salvage**: two orthogonally adjacent rack cells of sealed, nonconductive cargo that cannot link or accept charge. | [Equipment](/Hold%20The%20Flood/Equipment) |
+
| **Echo Relay** | A proposed **earned, one-cell electrical module** found in the upper sanctuary before the first credits. | [Equipment / Echo Relay](/Hold%20The%20Flood/Equipment/Echo%20Relay) |
+
| **Choir Cascade** | The earned spectacular build. It clears the ordinary Flood from the central furnace hall long enough to restart it; Hearth becomes permanently warm and the first credits roll. An *apparent* ending — the community has truly achieved safety. | [Brief](/Hold%20The%20Flood/Brief#earned-spectacular-build-the-choir-cascade) |
+
| **Mara, Senn, Tavi** | The cast at Hearth. [World and Mystery](/Hold%20The%20Flood/World%20And%20Mystery) owns the clue logic and shares the cast's reasons; **that page owns the list and this row does not track it.** | World and Mystery |
+
| **The districts** | Named places — the Head-works, the Collector, the Exchange, the Lock Flight, the Tram Incline and any added since. Each has a page under [Districts](/Hold%20The%20Flood/Districts), **which owns the list.** | Districts |

## The game, in one paragraph, in plain words
A **survivorlike** is a game where you steer one character through ever-growing crowds of enemies while
